Pendle Hill - Leader Roger
Fourteen of us left the car park for our local walk to the top of Pendle. We were joined by a new walker, Roco who hailed from Puglia in Southern Italy (via Preston). After the steady climb we arrived at the trig point, weather conditions were perfect but a slight haze cut down the views. After lunch we headed across the top where Anne showed us the Lily Pond. On then to the shelter and Scout Cairn then drop down to Ogden Clough Reservoir and on to our starting point.
The day was finished off with a drink in the beer garden at the White Hart

Spring Wood - Leader Catherine
The 5 mile evening walk started from Spring Wood. We walked up Deer Park wood to the quarry, down to Wiswell bottom, and we all stood to admire the stunning ‘tree’ at High House Farm.

Old Stone Trough - Kelbrook - Leader Catherine
5th Tuesday walk starting from Kelbrook, 26 walked 5 miles relatively easy walk, except for the long grass! Walked via Salterforth and returned to Old Stone Trough for an excellent lunch.

Hurst Green - Leader Judith
On one of the hottest days on record 8 (Steve behind the camera) intrepid ramblers enjoyed a walk round Hurst Green, taking in woods, forests and some challenging stiles!
The vintage tea bar caravan, in the picture, was not open! Views over to the coast and Blackpool were visible.

Perfect walking weather for a 10 mile circular of the stunning Quarries and Reservoirs of Helmshore.
A secret coffee stop location and lunch with a view.

Llandudno Holiday - Leader Geoff
The group holiday to Llandudno was a great success. Members enjoyed both inland and coastal walking and all routes provided good views. Despite adverse forecasts the weather remained fine.

Singing Ringing Tree - Leader Geoff
A showery day for a walk from Townley Park up to the Singing Ringing Tree, which was performing well in the gentle breeze. Then more downs and ups to pass by the Kettle Drum and return to the start.

After missing an alarming downpour, we enjoyed an evening of sunshine and showers on a route through Downham and surrounding fields.

Settle to Stainforth - Leader John
We made our way to Langcliffe and over Stainforth Scar to lunch at the village green in Stainforth with stepping stones for optional entertainment. From there a varied climb to Victoria cave and a meander to the trig point on Warrendale Knotts to admire the views. The descent to Settle was steep, testing both nerves and joints, but we soon arrived in the Talbot Arms for final refreshments. About 7.5 miles, 500m climbing.

We had a grand day in spring sunshine climbing Stoodley Pike above Todmorden.

Stocks Reservoir Circuit - Leader Nan
A clockwise route was taken on a fine day but with chilly winds. Work had finished on repairing the dam overflow allowing the circuit to be completed on good paths. There were clear views all day.
Saturday 11th April
Hellifield - Leader Roger
We left Hellifield with the anticipation of not too much mud and we were reasonably well rewarded. After climbing over Hellifield Moor and on to Orms Gill and along Orms Lane we then had lunch at Park House Quarry sat in the sunshine. It was the down into Otterburn and then back over the top to our starting point. Unfortunately the leader lost points as it rained for the last 100 metres. The photo shows a couple of lambs that were probably only about an hour old.

Arnside - Leader Nan
A 10-mile circular from Arnside front, over the Knott, and around Silverdale, returning along the cliff path. The day provided unexpected strong winds but, fortunately, no rain. Conditions underfoot were firm, and we had clear views across Morecambe Bay.

On a fine spring day the walk from Grassington to Conistone and up the Dib was enjoyed by all. We returned to Grassington over the moors.

Walking on a disused railway line, canal towpath and river bank we explored the seldom visited (by the group) area between Padiham and Read
Lunch was on banking alongside the track to Dunkirk farm.

Tuesday 24th February 22 walkers enjoyed the undulating 4.5 mile walk from Memorial Park, many commenting “they didn’t know there were so many hills in Gt Harwood!”, excellent views, spring lambs and fenced Alpacas.

With a break in the weather giving us a fine day a walk from Settle via Stainforth Falls to Feizor and back was enjoyed by all.

Gisburn Gorge - Leader Roger
The Gods were certainly on our side today, the forecast was for 65% to 90% rain all day but we never had a drop, in fact the sun was shining at the end of the walk. We left Sawley and followed the Ribble up to Gisburn Park where we saw a large herd of deer including three magnificent stags. Back down the opposite side of the river to the edge of Bolton by Bowland and on to our starting point at the Spread Eagle. The photo shows us at the Beat herder Festival site.

Around Malham - Leader John
A steady climb took us round the back of Pikedaw Hill to the remains of Knappa Cross for a rather grey view of Malham Tarn and a chill wind. We followed paths back to the top of Malham cove, and looped back by Janet's Foss and returned to Malham.

Silverdale Circuit - Leader Nan
Starting from St John's Church in Silverdale village, the 8.5 mile route made a wide circuit of the village. Points of interest on the way were the chimney at Jenny Brown's Point, several of the Silverdale Wells, The Pepperpot and Arnside Tower.

Clitheroe to Whalley - Leader Nan
Meeting on Chester Avenue car park, our group enjoyed a local walk from Clitheroe town centre to Whalley across field paths, tracks and a short stretch of minor road. Conditions underfoot were crisp owing to the sub-zero temperatures of the previous few days. The route included two riverside paths, starting with the Ribble and ending with the Calder.

Hetton and Winterburn Reservoir - Leader Roger
23 Ramblers left Hetton under beautiful clear blue skies but a cold biting wind. We headed up the Dales Highway to the top of Winterburn Reservoir. This was built between 1884 and 1893 at a cost of £45K to feed the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. After our coffee stop it was off down the side of the reservoir and through Winterburn Woods into the village. We had lunch facing a mound called Giants Graves. It was then down into Flasby and up the Flasby and Hetton Brook to our starting point. Unfortunately nobody could be persuaded to get their hands in their pockets and stay for the night at the renowned Michelin starred Angel Inn.
